Teppanyaki restaurant KIM CUONG (1046 Duong La Thanh, Ngoc Khanh, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi, TEL 0855829555) opened in Ba Dinh district on October 27. Teppanyaki means grilled dishes in Japanese.

Restaurant owner Hoang Ba Tan had worked at Koune Ohashi in Fukuoka when he was a foreign student in Japan and says “I was really into the style that grilling on the hotplate and serve food for customers.” Hoang returned to Vietnam this May and opened this restaurant. He adds “We want customers in Vietnam to enjoy this unique style at a reasonable price.”

The size of the restaurant is 120 square meters and they have 6 counter seats, 22 tables include 7 sofas, and can accommodate approximately 70 people. There are Japanese-style lights inside and outside of the restaurant. Hoang explains “The interior is Japanese comfortable style.” Customers at the counter seats can see how staffs cook. The name of the restaurant is derived from the name of Hoang’s child.

The main menu is grilled vegetables, steaks, yakisoba (fried noodle), and okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake). It includes Tonpeiyaki (80,000 VND) that pork and cheese covered with egg and flavored with sauce; Grilled scallops and mushrooms with butter sauce (160,000 VND); Beef steaks (198,000 VND to 228,000 VND) that customers can choose either shoulder, loin, or shin; Goose and bamboo shoot soup (88,000 VND); Seafood fried rice (58,000 VND); Shrimp and cheese spaghetti (78,000 VND), Shrimp and cauliflower stir-fried with mayonnaise (98,000 VND).

For drinks, they offer; Scotch whiskey Chivas Regal (138,000 VND); Japanese shochu Michore (178,000 VND); Chilean wine Kartavier Cabernet Sauvignon (475,000 VND); Pepsi Cola (20,000 VND)

Hoang comments “We import all ingredients such as seasoning, seafood, beef from Japan. Our restaurant respects Japanese traditional taste and always offers creative cuisine.”

Opening hour is 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
