Painter Vu Tuan Viet holds an individual exhibition, DICH CHUYEN/TRANSITION at co-working space Toong (9F, 5 Dien Bien Phu, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi) in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.

The exhibition is a part of creating an art project, Art Reside where artists stay at the place for more than three months. The host are the curator unit, Goc Creation, and the Toong chain group. They organized events in Hoan Kiem district and Cau Giay district in the past.

The program will feature local artists staying in Toong in Ho Chi Minh, Vientiane, and Hanoi, communicating with visitors. The person in charge emphasizes and says “It does not merely provide creative space or exhibition space. We support the free exploration, experimentation, and appeal to the general public of artists.”

At the venue, paintings, sketches, memos, and a great lineup of oil paintings are exhibited. Vu interacts with visitors using installations (a genre of contemporary art) arranged like jigsaw puzzles and says “We create a transition (transition/change) for the person who sees our art pieces.” Vu also focuses on COVID-19 and explains “I was inspired by the movement of people towards the big cities, the streets of Hanoi, and the rapidly changing social distances during the pandemic.”

Opening hour is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free admission. The exhibition opens until April 13.
