It has been one month since the climbing gym, VietClimb (So 2 Ngo 76 An Duong, Yen Phu, Tay Ho, Ha Noi) in Tay Ho district, Hanoi relocated and resumed its opening.
The gym opened as the first climbing club in Vietnam in 2011 near the current location. The CEO, Jean Verly established this club to raise young talented international climbers. VietClimb is the mixed word of Viet and Climb. They had to close the gym due to COVID-19, but relocated and resumed its opening on February 22.
A manager, Le Thi Uyen says “We have bigger and more modern space for young people who did not have enough chance to do exercise.” The size of the gym is 600 square meters, which is the largest climbing space in Vietnam. They can accommodate 150 climbers. The 500 square meters climbing area has training tools for a wide range of people, including various sloping walls, Kilter’s holds, and moonboards. The floor is 30 cm thick and has a highly elastic mat. Besides, there is a drink bar for relaxation and rest space.
The fee is; 180,000 VND for adults, 120,000 VND for those under 13 years old, and 817,000 VND for monthly members. The rental fee for climbing shoes is 30,000 VND. In addition to climbing classes for children and adults over 7 years old, they also hold outdoor rock climbing tours twice a month. Also, climbing equipment such as safety belt harnesses and helmets for rent and sale is available.
Le says “Climbing is not only for training the muscles from the legs to the shoulders but also develops concentration and mental strength to reach the endpoint. Believing in the potential of the legs and arms, climbers do not have to take any tasks that seem difficult unless they give up. We would like to make a place where climbers can learn things that are not possible. ”
Opening hour is 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday) The parking lot is for 2 cars and 30 motorbikes.
