Tokachiya ramen and fried rice opens in Hanoi – offering Hokkaido flavors

Tokachiya ramen and fried rice (647B Kim Ma, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi) will open in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi on June 4.
Ten years ago, the owner, Nguyen Tam Thanh Trung met a ramen chef from Hokkaido and learned Tokachi ramen as well as management of the restaurant. Nguyen came up with this restaurant’s name and says “It reminds me of who taught Tokachi ramen and I really appreciate it.”
The size of the restaurant is 70 square meters. The restaurant has 10 tables and can accommodate approximately 35 people. The feature is the simple Japanese design such as its interior based on white color, natural wooden tables, and sakura lanthanum. Nguyen says “It is a retro atmosphere.”
The menu includes; Tokachi miso ramen (50,000 to 200,000 VND) with egg, home-made miso soup and a slice of roasted pork; Shoyu ramen (125,000 to 165,000 VND); Tantan noodle (135,000 to 175,000 VND); Tokachi fried rice (65,000 to 110,000 VND); Hokkaido’s signature food, pork bowl (70,000 to 140,000 VND). Noodles and soup for ramen are homemade. Customers can choose size and add toppings such as seaweed, bamboo shoot, and boiled eggs (from 10,000 VND). For drinks, they have; Cola light (25,000 VND); Oolong tea (20,000 VND); Sapporo beer (50,000 VND); and Plum wine with soda (80,000 VND).
Nguyen says “We would like foreigners to try our ramen. At the same time, we wish our food can be a chance for Vietnamese to know Japanese culture.”
Opening hour is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The parking lot is for 3 cars and 10 motorbikes. The delivery option is available on a smartphone app, Shopeefood.
