Anh Duong Art Space (Long Bien Golf Course, Khu Trung Doan 918, Phuc Dong, Long Bien, Ha Noi) in Long Bien district, Hanoi holds an art exhibition, LUA (silk) 2022 hosted by Vietnamese modern artists.

The exhibition is the second project of Duong Toi Anh Duong (the way to light) that introduces modern artists and their art pieces. They display 39 art pieces under the theme of a silk picture. The project includes this event and Hanoi Studio Gallery which started on June 7. Nguyen Thi Hoang Minh and the other five Vietnamese artists take part in the project.

Silk pictures are drawn by a method using watercolor and acryl paint. The feature is a soft color, line, and shape. This style of painting is well known as the Vietnamese modern silk picture and is started by Indochina art painter, Nguyen Phan Trang in the 1930s. This method was used by many artists who describe anti-American feelings, and spread nationwide.

One of the participants, Nguyen says “I expressed anxious, thoughts and feelings that are hidden under the mask to prevent infection of COVID-19.” There are other art pieces using a new method and expression. Nguyen adds “A various collaboration of material and sensational layouts brings a new effect to Vietnamese art.”

Opening hour is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free admission. The exhibition opens on August 7.
