Event on international yoga day in 35 provinces and cities including Hanoi

The event for International Yoga Day holds on June 18th at the square in front of the Kamptuquang Statue, located near the Ba Kieu Temple in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
International Day of Yoga is on June 21. This event is Co-organized by the Embassy of India in Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It will be held in collaboration with various provinces and cities throughout Vietnam. Related events will take place in 35 or more provinces and cities across Vietnam.
International Yoga Day was established by the United Nations in 2014 during its General Assembly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India called for yoga to be recognized as the optimal means to create a healthy and peaceful society. India is the country where yoga originated. This proposal received support from 177 countries, including the Japanese government, leading to its official establishment. The date chosen for International Yoga Day is June 21st. This is the summer solstice when the sun reaches its highest point. This date was selected due to the belief that it represents the pinnacle of the sun’s nurturing energy, meaning it sustains all life.
The theme of this year is One World, One Health. On June 11, the opening event was held in Tong Nhat park, Dong Da, Hanoi. The main event will take place at the square in front of the Kamptuquang Statue in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. In addition, there are plans for a yoga event on the evening of June 18 at Mount Fansipan which is the highest peak in Vietnam, located in Sapa, Lao Cai province. Yoga concerts and events are also scheduled to take place in various places. Overall, an estimated attendance of approximately 10,000 people.
