On February 25, the Contemporary Arts Gallery opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi).

The museum preserves Vietnam’s historical cultural heritage and works of art. It has collected and archived approximately 20,000 pieces from the Bronze Age to the present day. In response to the rapid growth and diversification of the contemporary art field, the second and third floors of Building B, which used to hold special exhibitions, have been renovated into a gallery dedicated to contemporary art.

Currently on display are more than 65 paintings (lacquer and oil paintings), graphic arts, and sculptures (steel and iron) created since 1980. Exhibiting artists include Trinh Cung, Nguyen Trung, Bui Tien Tuan, and Vu Dinh Tuan.

“We want to provide a place that inspires artists,” said Nguyen Anh Minh, the director. “We hope that art lovers can also feel the message to people today and the dynamic of life from the multifaceted viewpoints of artists.”

Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Closed on Mondays. Admission is 40,000 VND for adults, 20,000 VND for university and junior college students, 10,000 VND for those aged 6 to 16, and free for children under 6.
